KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — All this rain may be bringing back some memories from last February. In Knoxville, days of rain led to flooding and a lot of damage and even took a life.
For drivers, another day of rain came with a bit more caution on Wednesday.. In North Knoxville, Tazewell Pike saw a lot of sporadic puddles, but none that had fully engulfed the road.
On Broadway, drivers could see First Creek rising outside their window, but water was still feet away from reaching the road way.
Last year in late February, a fire truck was stranded by floodwaters trying to rescue a driver on Knox Road. On Wednesday, it was a much different scene as drivers passed by with ease.
Over in West Knoxville, The Pavilion at Hunter Valley Farm saw major damage last year when a nearby lake overflowed into their venue. Almost no water was in sight on Wednesday.
Down the road in a North Cedar Bluff shopping center, some businesses saw 20 inches of water come inside last year which called for a lot of repairs.
But in our comparison, on Wednesday the shopping center was busy with not a lot of water in sight.
Ebenezer Road shut down last February because of high water. One man tried passing through but after hours of being stuck was completely submerged. Wednesday it was a drastically different scene as no water was in sight.
