MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. — Monroe County Schools dismissed at noon Wednesday because of flooding and potential hazardous road conditions, according to a post on the school system's Facebook page. They announced later in the day they would also be closed on Thursday.
Parents were told they could pick up their students at any time, according to the post.
Sequoyah High School posted on Facebook Wednesday stating buses would not be able to take students home if they live on Tomotley Road, Rocky Springs, Laurel Creek, Green Hill, and Laurel Mountain Lake. It said that parents should make arrangements to get their students at the school.
