UT track and field athletes will compete on Day 12 of the Paris Olympics. Here's who they are.

Some Vols will take the track in the Olympics for a chance to advance and possibly secure a medal. Here's who to watch for.

PARIS, France — It's Day 12 of the Olympic Games and some Tennessee athletes have advanced to the next round to possibly secure an Olympic medal.

The Olympic Games are running now to Sunday, Aug. 11 on WBIR. Here's who to watch for Friday:

Charisma Taylor - Women's 100m hurdler

Charisma Taylor will represent the Bahamas in the 100m hurdles at the Paris Olympics.

Taylor is named one of the most versatile athletes in Lady Vol track and field history. Before coming to UT as a graduate student, she won gold at the NACAC U23 Championships in the triple jump and appeared at nine outdoor meets for Washington State, collecting eight first-place finishes during 2021.

She is scheduled to start in the first round at 4:31 a.m. EST.

RESULTS

Taylor qualified for the semifinals with a time of 12.78. The semifinals are scheduled for Friday at 6:05 a.m. EST.

Jah-Nhai Perinchief - Men's triple jump

Jah-Nhai Perinchief is set to make his Olympic debut for Bermuda in Paris. The Tennessee graduate student will compete in the men's triple jump.

Before coming to Tennessee, Perinchief competed at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships, taking seventh place in the high jump and was an NJCAA All-American seven times.

He is scheduled to compete in the qualification round at 1:15 p.m. EST.

Perinchief did not place in the finals after ranking 28th in the triple jump with a 16.14 time. 

Clement Ducos - Men's 400m hurdler

The fastest 400m hurdler in Tennessee history will make his Olympic debut for France this summer, according to Tennessee Athletics.

Before coming to Tennessee, Clement Ducos was a member of the French U23 national team and won an indoor national title in the 400m dash, clocking in at 47.27 seconds. He also won bronze in the 60m hurdles at the 2022 French U23 Indoor Championships, breaking eight seconds for the second-straight race with a PR 7.98 in the final, Tennessee Athletics said.

He is scheduled to compete in the semifinals at 1:35 p.m. EST.

RESULTS

Ducos came in second in the 400m hurdler with 47.85 time, qualifying for the finals on Friday.

Christopher Bailey - Men's 400m

The former Vol quarter-miler will make his Olympic debut for Team USA in the 400m and 4x400m relay. 

In 2022, Christopher Bailey made his season debut at the Tyson Invitational, running on the men's 4x400m relay.  He also earned USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors as a member of Tennessee's 4x400m relay.

Bailey qualified for the semifinals after placing 2nd in the first round with a 44.89 time. 

During the semis, Bailey placed 6th with a 44.31 time, advancing to the finals.

He is scheduled to compete at 3:20 p.m. EST.
