KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee football has maintained the No. 7 spot in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll Sunday afternoon after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats 28-18 on Saturday in the Border Battle.

The Vols once again struggled in the first half, their fourth straight game without scoring a point in the first quarter.

Tennessee gained momentum in the late game, barreling down the field in the fourth quarter and giving Dylan Sampson his record-breaking 19th rushing touchdown in a single season. This brought the score to 28-18 with just minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Six teams now sit in front of UT in the rankings. Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, Miami (Florida), Texas and Penn State take the lead in that order, with Oregon holding the number one spot.

Tennessee will face off against Mississippi State on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. inside Neyland. This will be the Vols' last in a stretch of home games before taking on Georgia in Sanford Stadium.
