KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee replaced its fourth quarter song Saturday night, ending a multi-year tradition for the university.
Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places" has been played before the fourth quarter of UT's football games for the past several seasons. The song was replaced for the first time in years Saturday by country singer Morgan Wallen's "The Way I Talk" at Tennessee's Checker Neyland game against the University of Florida.
Last month, Wallen made history with Knoxville's largest weekend totaling 156,161 fans across both nights. This number surpassed the record previously held by The Jackson 5 across three shows in 1984 with 148,407 fans.
