SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. — UPDATE: The hearing for Megan Boswell was delayed until Aug. 28 on Friday.
The prosecutor told the judge they had another matter regarding Boswell to the grand jury, which will meet August 19.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said it will hold a news conference with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the 2nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office to provide information on the "latest developments" in the investigation of Evelyn Boswell's death on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Right now, she's charged with multiple counts of false reporting. Investigators said she gave conflicting information during the search for her missing daughter, 15-month-old Evelyn Boswell.
No one has been charged in the little girl's death.
Original story
Megan Boswell is set to appear before a judge in virtual court Friday in Sullivan County.
In May, she was arraigned on ten additional charges of false reporting.
She is the mother of 15-month-old Evelyn Boswell, the toddler whose remains were found on a family member's property back in March. Investigators said Boswell repeatedly gave them conflicting information in their search for the little girl.
She hadn't been seen for at least two months before a family member finally reported her missing.
Boswell appeared in court via video. The judge and attorneys were in the courtroom.
Boswell was previously arraigned on one charge of false reporting.
The judge did not ask Boswell for a plea and declined to lower her bond, which will remain at $150,000.
The only time Boswell spoke at the hearing was when her attorney asked her if she'd received a copy of the court documents. She said, "I did, thank you."
She also thanked the judge as he dismissed her from the hearing.
