ATLANTA — Weeks after a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper was wounded in a shooting in Putnam County, leaders of the law enforcement agencies paid him a visit as he recovered inside a Georgia rehabilitation center.
In July, authorities said Adam Cothron pulled over a car on I-40 for a traffic violation. He was shot after approaching the car, according to a release from the state and the men drove away. They were later found and arrested, but Cothron has had to spend weeks recovering from his wounds.
Commissioner Jeff Long went to pay him a visit on Monday, accompanied by Colonel Matt Perry and other members of the agency's command staff. In a post on social media, they said Cothron is "making tremendous progress" at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.
