Autopsy reports reveal new details in the Cocke Co. deaths of 2 Georgia firefighters, determines it was a murder-suicide

A suicide note from the woman was found inside the car. The report said she kidnapped and shot Chandler Kuhbander before shooting herself.

COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — The Knox County Regional Forensics Center released the autopsy reports for two missing Georgia firefighters who were found dead in Cocke County in June and determined the case was a murder-suicide.

Cocke County authorities found Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander dead in a vehicle on June 30. The two firefighters were reported missing out of Liberty County, Georgia, on June 25.

Kuhbander was last seen on June 24 at a Crunch Fitness in Savannah, Georgia. Anderson was last seen in security footage on June 24 at a gas station in South Carolina.  The two had dated for years and were in a "toxic" relationship, according to Kuhbander's mother, Jane.

According to the autopsy report for Anderson, she was found dead in a car with Kuhbander. The report said investigators learned Anderson kidnapped Kuhbander in Georgia on June 24, later shooting him and then herself. A suicide note from Anderson was found inside the car.

Anderson's toxicology report found no drugs in her system.

According to Kuhbander's autopsy report, he was shot multiple times by Anderson before she turned the gun on herself. His toxicology report found alcohol in his system, some of which the report said was due to decomposition. The two had signs of decomposition, meaning they likely had been dead for more than a day before being found.
