Bodies of missing Georgia firefighters found in Cocke County Sunday morning

Cocke County Sheriff's Office and TBI haven't released any additional information since the two were found.

COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — The bodies of two missing Georgia firefighters were found along Hollow Road in Cosby, Tennessee, Sunday morning. Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander were reported missing out of Liberty County, Georgia, on June 25.

Kuhbander was last seen on June 24 at a Crunch Fitness in Savannah, Georgia. Anderson was last seen in security footage on June 24 at a gas station in South Carolina.

The two were traveling in a dark-colored Ford Focus with a Georgia license plate, GEX655. The car was also at the scene where the two were found dead, authorities said.

The two had dated for years and were in a "toxic" relationship, according to Kuhbander's mother, Jane.

She gave an interview on Friday, two days before the pair was found. The couple had recently split, she said. The day before their disappearance, Anderson was arrested, Jane said.

"She was arrested because my son was on a date with someone else," Jane said. "She showed up to the place where he was on the date at, she came inside, she confronted him and the girl inside and was just wildly inappropriate."

Police records show Anderson left the restaurant and then keyed Kuhbander's vehicle, broke the gas cap and broke the rear windshield wiper.

Other police records show Kuhbander had called the police at least two times in the past because he was afraid Anderson was going to harm herself. She left a note in her home before she disappeared, Hinesville Chief of Police Tracey Howard said.

"The note would raise concern with anybody reading it regarding the health and wellbeing of Ms. Anderson."

WBIR went to the Cocke County Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon but was told the sheriff was busy and that TBI would be releasing more information on Monday. No additional information has been released by the time this story was published.

This is a developing story. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
