LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — The search for a man accused of shooting at people on I-75 in Laurel County, and wounding five, has continued for more than a week. Authorities said Joseph Couch was believed to be hiding in a dense, nearby forest after the Sept. 7 shooting. After the shooting, authorities began scouring the area for any sign of him.

On Monday, Kentucky State Police said the search led troopers to a home in Laurel County. However, law enforcement said on social media Couch was not found there and the search would continue.

On Sept. 15, Kentucky State Police said authorities had searched around 28,000 acres — mostly in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Kentucky State Police also said it increased patrols near Exit 49 of the highway and increased its presence at high school football games in the area.

Couch is still at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his location should reach out to authorities, and make sure not to approach him. The reward for finding Couch was set at $35,000.
