Search for accused gunman in Kentucky I-75 shooting stretches into 4th day

Authorities are combing through a Kentucky forest in an effort to find Joseph Couch, accused of wounding five people on I-75 in a shooting over the weekend.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — The search for Joseph Couch continued Tuesday while law enforcement combed through the Daniel Boone National Forest. He is the accused gunman in a shooting that injured five people on I-75 Saturday evening.

Couch is thought to be in the dense forest, leading authorities to search high and low for the suspect. Helicopters and drones have been called in to help with the search.

"We're gonna take all the help we can get, we're gonna try to locate Mr. Couch until something tells us we need to go a different direction," said Scottie Pennington, the Public Affairs Officer for the Kentucky State Police.

Couch is still at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his location should reach out to authorities, and make sure not to approach him. The reward for finding Couch is set at $35,000.
