Knoxville woman accused of fatally shooting boyfriend while on the phone with 911 indicted on 3 charges

A grand jury returned the indictment against Alexandria Pastor-Light Monday after authorities said she admitted to fatally shooting her boyfriend.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A grand jury indicted Alexandria Pastor-Light Monday on three charges after she was accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend while on the phone during a 911 call.

She was indicted on charges of aggravated kidnapping, felony murder and first-degree murder and will face trial in Knox County Criminal Court. In September, the Knox County Sheriff's Office said she admitted to shooting John Nicholas Balastro Jr.

A police report said she made him take off his clothes in the bedroom before shooting him. Pastor-Light told the operator on the call that she thought her boyfriend was cheating on her with a man, and that he tried to poison her.

If convicted of first-degree murder, she faces either life in prison, life in prison without parole or the death penalty. She is being held in the Knox County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
