JAMESTOWN, Tenn. — A Jamestown police officer won't face charges after shooting an armed man during a call in January, District Attorney General Jared Effler said.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, officers responded to a call at the 200 block of Rugby Avenue in Jamestown the night of Jan. 28 after receiving a call about a man armed with a gun. An officer shot the man during the encounter, according to the TBI.
On March 14, Effler said he closed the case against the officer after determining their actions "were totally justified." Effler said the man who was shot survived and has charges pending against him.
