RUTLEDGE, Tenn. — A 21-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony after a body was found on the side of the road in Grainger County, according to an arrest warrant.
The Grainger County Sheriff's Office said at around 2:17 p.m. Monday authorities received a call about a woman's body on the side of the road. The person who made the 911 call said they saw a car leaving the area at a high rate of speed just moments before seeing the body.
The body was identified as 21-year-old Grace Emily Miller. She was left in a rural area of Rutledge, near Poor Valley Road. She was killed by Dilan McFall, who shot her multiple times, the arrest warrant states.
Miller and McFall were in a relationship and are parents to a 5-month-old baby, according to Grainger County Sheriff James Harville.
McFall was wanted for questioning concerning a homicide on Monday. He was taken into custody late Monday evening, according to GCSO.
GCSO said deputies are investigating alongside agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
