Local church shakes up Easter egg hunt tradition

Instead of small eggs with candy, the church hid cardboard cut-out eggs around the exterior of the church.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — West Lonsdale church usually holds a large Easter egg hunt on Easter so here's how it changed things up.

Instead of small eggs with candy, the church hid cardboard cut-out eggs around the exterior of the church.

Families could drive by and email locations of eggs they found for a chance to win prizes.

The church's pastor said it was all to get families out of the house.

"So we thought of this as a way to get out of the house, but not get people together in the same place but give them something common to do together," teaching pastor Todd Halliburton said.

The church also held its regular easter service online.
