KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Jake Hoot moved to Cookeville in East Tennessee when he was 20 after he learned Spanish in the Dominican Republic. It was also where he learned how to play the guitar.
He took his skill with the guitar and as a performer with him when he moved to East Tennessee, where he attended Tennessee Tech University and began scheduling performing gigs.
That musical experience led him onto The Voice, a singing competition series. Hoot made it to the Final Four in the series' 17th season, and on Monday, Dec. 16 and Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m., he will compete to win it all.
He said that he wants to make his daughter proud, after going through a divorce.
Viewers can watch The Voice on Channel 10 on Mondays and Tuesdays.
