Rockwell letters reveal East TN valor in First World War
April 6, 2017: This marks the centennial of the U.S. entering the First World War, but Kiffin Rockwell of Newport, TN, joined the fight in 1914 as a volunteer for France. He became the first American pilot in history to score an aerial combat victory.
