Weather Impact Alert Day: Monday afternoon storms could impact rush hour and school pick-up

The risk for severe weather isn't very high, but the system could be impactful to those heading home from school.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — East Tennessee will see some heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding and some strong winds Monday afternoon. 

Models show the rain will mainly stay north of I-40 but a few strong storms will be possible in the southern valley. 

The risk for severe weather is low, but the system could be impactful if it rolls into the area around school pick-up time and rush hour.
