KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A 10Weather Impact Alert will be in place from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Wednesday due to the possibility of gusty winds, heavy showers and isolated strong storms.
The main timeframe for the potential high wind gusts in the valley will be from late morning into early-mid afternoon. The highest rainfall potential is expected to be along the Cumberland Plateau up into Southeast Kentucky.
However, cooler and drier weather is expected to return Thursday into Friday with a slight chance for light snow in the mountains Friday night. Conditions will stay cold and dry throughout the weekend, then will gradually warm through towards Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
