KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Frigid conditions hit East Tennessee Monday night into Tuesday, and as the temperatures dropped several school districts said they would cancel classes or delay school openings.
Temperatures were expected to drop to a low of 24 degrees on Tuesday, with a high of 38 degrees. In the upper elevations of East Tennessee, there was also a chance for snow flurries Monday night.
