Roadway conditions appeared to be improving across East Tennessee, but drivers should still use caution as temperatures continue to drop in the area. People should stay home if they can and avoid going on the roads during winter weather.
Crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation are continuing to plow and salt roads throughout the day.
Anderson County
- Back roads may still have snow on them.
Bell County, KY
- The portion of KY-988 (Sugar Run Overlook Road) that goes through Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and the road going up to the Pinnacle Overlook will be CLOSED - Bell County Emergency Management Facebook page
- County roads and backroads may still be hazardous.
Blount County
No known road closures, according to dispatchers.
Campbell County
- There was a section of Interstate 75 between Mile Markers 157 and 159 in Campbell County where several tractor-trailers wrecked. A lane was open while crews worked to clear the area around 6 a.m.
Hamblen County
No known road closures, according to dispatchers.
Knox County

Loudon County
- SR 72 eastbound was closed at around 11 a.m. near the Loudon/Roane County line due to a downed tree and power line. - TDOT Spokesperson Mark Nagi
