Footage shows EF-0 tossing MTSU trailer Monday afternoon, no injuries reported

Middle Tennessee State University said relatively minor damage was reported on Monday.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Security camera footage shared by Middle Tennessee State University on Monday showed some of the power that seemingly regular storms can have.

The footage showed a football equipment trailer in the rain, before strong winds approach and lift it off the ground. The camera shakes as the winds twist around the trailer, lifting it up off the ground and turning it in a circle while sending some minor debris into the air.

The storm drops the trailer on some nearby grass, pushed over on its side with a trail showing its path. The university said the trailer was located between Floyd Stadium and Smith Field. It also said no injuries were reported, and there was relatively minor damage.

The National Weather Service in Nashville said it surveyed the damage and confirmed that an EF-0 tornado with winds of 75 mph touched down at the university.

The video is available below.
