We are tracking a cold front that will bring us the chance for strong to severe storms tonight while most of us will be sleeping!
Ahead of the storm, it will be warm and windy. Highs pushing close to 80 degrees. There is a chance for a stray shower or two early on, but most will stay dry through the evening.
Tonight, though, you'll need to keep a close eye on the forecast and be alert there is severe weather potential. We are tracking a cold front that will bring an elevated chance for damaging wind, large hail, frequent lightning -- and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out!
TIMING:
11 p.m.- 1 a.m.: The Cumberland Plateau and the western Valley will be seeing the increase threat for severe storms.
1 a.m. - 3 a.m.: The Valley will be getting the brunt of the line of storms as it races across our area.
3 a.m. - 6 a.m.: The line of storms will be weakening as it pushes into the mountain counties.
