KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Morgan Wallen Foundation will be at West Town Mall on Wednesday to collect essential items for victims of Helene.

The country superstar's charity is putting together an effort to help people impacted by Helene through Second Harvest Food Bank. It will be collecting bottled water and ready-to-eat non-perishable food items on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of West Town Mall near Dick's House of Sport.

The foundation said any canned food items donated should use pop tabs instead of requiring can openers. It is also asking that any other food donated be ready to eat, which includes items like protein bars, crackers, and peanut butter.

The foundation is also holding a virtual food drive through Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, which people can donate to by heading to this link.

Wallen recently donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross to help flood victims in East Tennessee, according to Trevor Riggen, the president of humanitarian services at the American Red Cross.

"We can’t thank Morgan Wallen enough for his heart and generous $500,000 donation to impact help on the ground now in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene, including his beloved East Tennessee,” Riggen said.
