Biltmore Estate to reopen on Nov. 2 decorated for the holidays, after Helene swept through Western NC

The Biltmore Estate temporarily closed after Hurricane Helene made impact and swept into Western North Carolina, bringing devasting floods.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — One of Asheville's biggest attractions said it would reopen on Nov. 2, hoping to welcome visitors back while also kicking off the holiday season.

The Biltmore Estate temporarily closed after Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina and East Tennessee, especially impacting Asheville. Deadly flooding tore through communities, ripping apart roads and toppling bridges. The Biltmore Estate said in a release that crews have been working to repair damaged areas and welcome guests back.

It said it would reopen on the first Saturday of November when it will be fully decorated for the holiday season. It said estate attractions and restaurants will be open, and lodging properties will be ready for overnight guests.

However, it said some of the estate's wooded areas were still being cleaned up and as were some roads. The estate's trails and Outdoor Adventure Center would stay closed until further notice, according to the release. Guests are also encouraged to plan for having to take alternative routes when traveling to the Biltmore.
