KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — This week has been a doozy as far as winter weather goes, and we aren't done just yet.
Another blast of Arctic air moves into the region Friday evening, keeping temperatures bitterly cold through the weekend. You'll need to continue to practice the "5 P's of cold weather safety" by dressing warmly (people), dripping your faucets (pipes), covering plants, taking care of pets and practicing fire safety.
Whatever melts each day will re-freeze at night so black ice will be a concern each morning, even into Monday.
Lows drop down into the single digits each morning and generally stay near to below freezing each afternoon. But the sun's warmth will still help encourage some melting each day.
Temperatures will stay cold into the Monday morning, then we will finally warm up next week!
Highs should reach the middle to upper 50s by midweek and we may even flirt with 60 degrees by Friday.
