ALCOA, Tenn. — McGhee Tyson Airport said travelers planning on flying between Oct. 4 and Oct. 17 should try to arrive at least 2 hours before takeoff.

A release from the airport said it expects to see more passengers fill its terminal during that time, creating longer lines at the security checkpoint and at rental car counters. It also warned that an increase in passengers would impact parking.

Before travelers leave home, they can check the airport's website to see if parking spots are available at the airport. The website offers real-time parking capacity information, telling travelers how close parking lots are to being full.

The airport said online it also recommends people arrive around 2.5 hours early if they are taking an international flight.
