KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville woman was hit and killed while walking on Tazewell Pike early Tuesday morning.
According to the accident report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Lakeysha Tuggle, 35, was walking in the southbound lane of Tazewell Pike towards Atkins Road just before 5:30 a.m. when she was hit by a car traveling in the same direction.
The report notes that Tuggle was wearing a black jacket, pink t-shirt and blue jeans with all non-reflective clothing.
It says no criminal charges were filed.

Tazewell Pike between Carter Road and Atkins Road in Halls has reopened after a deadly crash between a pedestrian and a car.
Officials responded at about 5:50 a.m. Rural Metro Fire, Knox County Rescue and AMR were on scene.
Tazewell Pike was closed until about 8 a.m. Tuesday.
