BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — One person is dead and another injured after a motorcycle crash in Blount County, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol.
THP said the crash happened on Wednesday around 4:00 p.m. It happened on the Dragon, an infamous curving roadway near the North Carolina line.
According to THP, Ryan Deville, 35, of Carlsbad, New Mexico was traveling on a motorcycle with Annie McKinney, 45, of Dayton, Texas riding as a passenger.
According to THP's investigation, Deville was traveling south on Highway 129. As he drove around a curve to the right, Deville lost control of the motorcycle and crossed into the center lane.
The motorcycle struck a pickup truck in the other lane. The motorcycle ejected both Deville and McKinney into a ditch. McKinney died and Deville was injured. Both were wearing helmets at the time.
According to THP's report, there are charges for Deville pending an investigation.
Passengers in the other vehicles involved were not injured.
