UNION COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol said one person has died and three were injured in a crash that occurred Wednesday evening on Maynardville Highway/State Route 33 in Union County, according to a THP crash report.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred on the northbound side of Maynardville Highway at Possum Valley Road around 6 p.m.
18-year-old Colin Fischer of Tazewell was killed in the accident. He was traveling north on Maynardville Highway when his car, a 2010 Nissan Altima, crossed the center line and struck a van head on, the crash report said.
Irvin Woods, 58, was driving the 2006 Chevrolet Express van. Troy Collins, 43, and Wilford Billingsley, 64, were also in the van. All three were injured, according to the report.
Woods was charged with driving on a suspended license, but there were no criminal charges as of Thursday morning, according to the report.
