KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol said four cars were involved in a crash near Bull Run Road and US-25 West on Thursday. They also said three people were injured in the crash.
They said the first car, a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, crossed over the centerline of the road and hit a 2001 Dodge RAM 2500. The driver and passenger in the Jeep were injured in the crash, officials said. The driver of the Dodge was not injured, according to officials.
After that impact, a 2013 Ford Escape hit the Jeep from the rear. A 7-month-old child was in that car, and officials said they were not injured. However, the driver of the Ford was injured, officials said. Another car, a 2008 Mercedes E350, was hit by debris from the crash, according to officials.
The driver of the Jeep, Robert Tapp, from Clinton, faces several charges from the crash. He was charged with driving on a suspended license, failing to maintain the lane, driving under the influence, not having insurance and having an expired registration.
Nobody else involved in the crash faces charges, according to officials. The crash was reported around 6:48 p.m. in Anderson County.
