KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE (Oct. 21 5:30 p.m.): Officials said that a truck driving on I-40 West pulling a fifth-wheel trailer pulled onto the shoulder with a brake fire in the trailer.
The driver was able to separate the truck from the trailer with the help of a bystander, according to officials. The bystander then suffered "an apparent cardiac event" according to a release from officials.
The Knoxville Fire Department worked with the victim until he was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
No other injuries were reported.

OLD STORY: Traffic headed south on Pellissippi Parkway was blocked Tuesday afternoon near the I-40 interchange in West Knoxville, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, after a vehicle caught fire on the road.
The fire also affected traffic on nearby I-40 West, near Exit 376. The incident caused officials to block the right lanes of the road to traffic, TDOT said. Eastbound traffic was unaffected, according to officials. Lanes on I-40 West were totally closed earlier in the day, according to officials.
Information about the cause of the fire and any injuries were not immediately available.
