KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Two crashes were reported on I-40 West Monday afternoon, blocking lanes near the Hall of Fame Drive exit and the exit to Alcoa Highway. By 6:30 p.m. TDOT said the crashes were cleared and traffic was flowing normally.
The first was reported at around 4:34 p.m. Eastern Time near the exit to Alcoa Highway, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. By 5:30 p.m., it was not blocking any lanes. The second crash near Hall of Fame Drive exit was reported at around 5:15 p.m. Eastern Time,
It blocked the two left lanes of traffic, causing temporary backups stretching to near Cherry Street, according to TDOT.
