KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Traffic was backed up on I-40 East on Wednesday after a semi-truck crashed and stopped on the road near the I-640 interchange.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation said it was a single-vehicle crash and blocked two of three lanes, as well as the shoulder. The department also said traffic was backed up to near Zoo Knoxville at around 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
The crash was reported at around 2:37 p.m. Eastern Time, according to TDOT.
Earlier in the day, a separate crash was reported in the same area which blocked lanes. In the crash, a semi-truck knocked over a utility pole.
