KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A part of Papermill Drive will be closed for most of the day on Wednesday, as crews work on the area's water distribution system.
The Knoxville Utilities Board said contractors crews would close the westbound lane of traffic between Coleman Road and Kalmia Road from 6:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27. The eastbound lane would remain open.
The work was originally scheduled to happen on Tuesday, April 26. However, the work was delayed due to rain.
Flaggers will be present to alternate the flow of traffic through the remaining lane, officials said. They will also make sure people can access driveways and side streets in the area, according to a release from officials.
The closure would start near the entrance of The Addison at Sutherland apartments, ending before drivers can merge onto the nearby highway.
KUB also said closures could extend beyond the scheduled times, depending on conditions during excavation and construction.
