KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — UPDATE: According to the Knoxville Police Department, Pleasant Ridge Road reopened around 5 p.m.

---

The Knoxville Police Department said Wednesday afternoon that Pleasant Ridge Road was closed in both directions after a multi-car crash between Walnoaks Road and the Autumn Landing apartment community.

Authorities said no serious injuries were reported in the crash, but the road would be closed while crews work. On social media, the police department encouraged drivers to seek alternate routes if possible.

The road is often used to access a nearby shopping center, leading drivers to Schaad Road in one direction and Pleasant Ridge Elementary School in the other direction. The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported backups in the area of the apartment community Wednesday afternoon.

Additional information, such as the circumstances surrounding the crash and the identities of anyone involved, was not immediately available.
