KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — One side of Pellissippi Parkway was closed Tuesday afternoon after a crash at the Northshore Drive exit in West Knoxville.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the eastbound/southbound side of Pellissippi Parkway was closed at exit 5 to Northshore Drive. Several fire trucks could be seen responding to the crash around 5 p.m.
Traffic was backed up for miles past the Interstate 40 interchange.
As of 5:45 p.m., the road had reopened.
