A section of Highway 129, known as "The Dragon", was shut down due to a wildfire resulting from a motorcycle crash.
According to the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, the fire is an estimated 177 acres. It is 100% contained.
The fire was first reported by the Tennessee Department of Transportation around 12:18 Sunday afternoon.
The Dragon is a stretch of highway near the Tennessee/North Carolina border notorious for its twists and turns that can result in serious crashes.
The Tennessee Division of Forestry warns of high fire danger levels in East Tennessee due to high winds and current dry conditions. No debris burns are permitted.
