KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation said Wednesday evening that a truck overturned on I-40 East, near the Strawberry Plains Pike exit.
They said the truck was carrying aluminum coils and would need to be offloaded. They said it shut down the exit ramp off the highway. Traffic was backed up to the I-640 split following the truck overturning, according to TDOT.
They said it was reported at around 6:13 p.m. Eastern time. By 8:30 p.m. the exit ramp was back open, according to TDOT.
