LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Loudon County Sheriff's Office said multiple injuries were reported after a crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car on I-75 Sunday afternoon.
They said two Lifestar helicopters were called to the scene to transport two people with injuries. Information about their conditions was not immediately available.
Police said the crash happened near the 71-mile-marker, and southbound traffic was backed up past Sugarlimb Road. According to TDOT, a part of I-75 North was also closed off near the Loudon Highway exit. By 4:20 p.m. they said the road was back open.
The crash was reported at around 1:57 p.m. according to the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.
Information about the cause of the crash and when lanes on I-75 North would be reopened was not immediately available. This story will be updated when more information is available.
