KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Officials with the Knoxville Police Department said that a pedestrian woman was hit by a vehicle on Magnolia Avenue Thursday night, at around 5:30 p.m. They said that she was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver stayed on the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, officials said. Crash reconstructionists responded to the scene to start the investigation, and officials are continuing to look into the incident.
The identity of the woman is being withheld as police work to notify her next of kin, according to a release from police. This story will be updated when more information is available.
