KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — There were no fatal crashes over Christmas, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Police also said there were four crashes with injuries during their enhanced holiday traffic enforcement, between 4 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 26. Police also said there were 22 crashes that only resulted in property damage.
Authorities also said they issued 42 citations for traffic violations over Christmas. They also issued 38 warning citations in addition to the other citations and said they helped 10 motorists. Two were arrested for driving under the influence, police said.
They urged people to drive sober over the New Year's holiday. People driving over the holiday should stay alert of their surroundings, and should never get behind a wheel if they choose to drink.
