KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A total of 235 citations were given out during the Fourth of July holiday weekend, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
A total of 37 car wrecks occurred over the period of 6 p.m. on July 1 to 6 a.m. on July 5, KCSO said.
28 of those wrecks had no injuries. Two wrecks had no injuries but alcohol was involved, according to KCSO.
The remaining seven wrecks had injuries with two out of the seven involving alcohol. KCSO said 14 people were arrested during the period for driving under the influence.
81 "other arrests" were made over the holiday weekend, according to KCSO.
KCSO said 64 motorists needed assistance and zero fatalities were reported.
