ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Northbound Interstate 75 was backed up for miles in Campbell and Anderson counties after a crash south of Caryville.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, one lane of the interstate was closed around 11 a.m. at mile marker 133.

As of 1:10 p.m., it appears the crash had been cleared, according to TDOT Smartway.

Traffic was backed up for nearly 10 miles on the interstate between Caryville and Norris. The backup went past Exit 122 to Andersonville Highway. Traffic appears to be clearing slowly at the site where the crash happened, but it may take an hour or more for traffic to return to normal.

The crash also caused heavy traffic along John McGhee Boulevard as people tried to find a route around the interstate backup.
