KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation said that an overturned tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle fire closed I-640 East on Thursday, before the Washington Pike exit.
By 9 p.m. they said that a lane was still closed, but traffic was able to get through the crash site.
A TDOT spokesperson reported the crash at around 5:10 p.m. on social media. TDOT also showed traffic backed up past the Broadway exit, toward the I-275 interchange.
