According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, a crash blocked the westbound side of I-40 at the Strawberry Plains Pike exit near Mile Marker 398.

As if 1:45 p.m., most lanes were reopened on the westbound side and traffic was slowly flowing again.

Traffic is backed up for miles in both directions as crews respond. As of 1:45 p.m., traffic on the westbound side was backed up to Kodak, and the eastbound side was moving slowly and backed up to the I-640/I-40 split in Knoxville.
