KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Traffic was backed up for at least a mile after several vehicles crashed on Westbound Interstate 40 near Papermill Drive.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the crash blocked most of the left lanes of I-40 just after 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
Several emergency vehicles responded to the crash at the Papermill Drive exit. Traffic was backed up to the Alcoa Highway exit as of 9:55 a.m.
As of 10:30 a.m., the crash was cleared and traffic was flowing again.
