COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — Eastbound Interstate 40 had to be closed Friday morning after a vehicle crash near Newport.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, I-40 East was closed near Exit 432 to Highway 411 after a single-vehicle crash around 7:45 a.m.
The eastbound side was reopened to traffic as of 9 a.m. The westbound side was not affected.
