POWELL, Tenn. — A crash closed southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near the exit to East Emory Road in the Powell area, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The lanes were back open by 8:45 p.m. Eastern Time.
It said the crash was reported at around 6:38 p.m. Eastern Time. The crash backed up traffic about a mile, to where East Copeland Drive goes through the highway. The Emory Road exit is often used to access the nearby North Knoxville Medical Center.
