CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — Northbound Interstate 75 was temporarily closed in Campbell County Tuesday afternoon after a semi-truck crashed and a vehicle caught fire.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the crash happened around noon just south of the Caryville exit at mile marker 133. Both lanes were reopened as of 2 p.m.

According to TDOT Smartway, traffic was backed up for roughly 4 miles to Rocky Top at 12:30 p.m. Traffic has since cleared up now that the interstate is fully open.

At least two vehicles were involved in the crash. One of the vehicles appeared to have been a pickup truck that was mangled in the crash.
